The “American” Brand

Image

General motors automotive an American based and founded company has been in the hot seat in recent news. Apparently the muti-billion dollar company failed to recall cars that have a failed ignition switch. This fail to recall these faulty cars has resulted in at least 13 deaths from car accidents caused by the malfunction of these cars with the faulty ignition switch’s. The most sickening and sad thing about the company’s failure to recall and repair these vehicles, is that it is estimated that the cost to repair each cars ignition switch was less than 2 dollars per car, an estimate of 1.6 million cars were on the streets with this ignition problem. General Motors declined to recall these vehicles because they did not want the bad publicity of having a product on the market that was not up to standards and not functioning properly.

Image

General Motors put the lives of every American citizen including their own lives at risk by not recalling these faulty vehicles. These cars were not only a danger to the driver, but to anyone, and everyone, in any car on the road. These chief executive officers even were putting their lives and their children lives at risk by leaving these faulty motor vehicles on the road. Who would be so narrow narrowed and ignorant to ignore something so serious and so inexpensive to repair just to save face. The company has filed bankruptcy so that it can not be sued and held responsible for the lives that it has cost and all the lives they put at risk. Image

Someone should be held accountable for this and since the company has protected itself from law suits the alternative is prison time. Someone should definitely face prison time for these actions, companies are not being held accountable like citizens are being held accountable for their actions, but yet they can use the same laws and find loop holes to avoid penalties for there actions. Companies are headed by people and these people need to be held accountable, or we will continue to have companies that have no care or concern for there actions and the American people will continue to put as risk just to save a dollar, when these companies make billions.

Its just Hair!!!

The United States Army has put a ban on certain hairstyles that women are wearing, primarily those worn by African American women. In a country where we have so many different ethnicities and personnel from different ethnic backgrounds in the military, to regulate a certain make, or fashion of, or “appropriate” hairstyles, is a matter of opinion and when it comes to opinions about other ethnicities that is always a sensitive subject, and at most times bias, self centered, and flat out racist.
image

These military women wear there hats probably 90% of the time they are only allowed to take them off when inside of a building and must put their military hats back on once they leave any building, public or military. The focus here should be on what is the most manageable way a woman can wear her hair not to draw unnecessary attention and be able to complete her tasks at work.
image

African American women have a different texture of hair then other ethnicities and certain hairstyles worn by Caucasian women and seen as appropriate are not very manageable hairstyles for African American women. Dreadlocks, corn rows, and twist have all been banned these three hairstyles are commonly worn by African American women. These hairstyles are not only very manageable for African American women but they also have ethnic roots in the African American culture and in Africa. Certain highlights, and coloring of the hair typically worn by Caucasian women have been banned also.
image

These  women have put their lives on the line to fight for this country, but yet are being micromanaged over hairstyles that set them apart and in no way are a distraction, a threat or outrageously so different that they cause issues at work. When there are a million other things that can be focused on in the military concerning women like equal rights, and the protection of women who have been sexually harassed and raped in the military yet the focus is on hairstyles and tint. When will this country let women be women and protect their rights and give them the same freedoms to express themselves without criticism, and patriarchic control and pressures.

What season is it!

Has anyone really paid attention to the weather conditions, and things taking place around the world with the climate. We have had record breaking snowfalls, droughts and floods all at the same time. Recently there was the big mud slide in Washington that has killed 21 people with another 30 or so still missing. The climate “change or shift” has had a world wide impact, and more than likely will continue to do so. Japan has released statements saying that global warming is having a world wide impact, and the country is calling for immediate attention to this issue. Global warming and climate change is effecting everything from water resources to food production and weather patterns, making it almost unpredictable to really determine what the weather will be. California suffered a drought a month or two ago then was hit by flood waters. All occurring while some Scientist are saying the honeybee population is dying out. We may not know the importance of honeybees to our ecosystem but you can be assured that a threat of extinction to any species of any kind is a threat to us all. New York and other countries are seeing lots of smog which is harmful to human health.

In the media we hear a lot of political jargon that really ends with how much money is needed to do “this” whatever that may be. When its actually common sense the industrial age has brought about, and has made a lot of things easier and more accessible for mankind, but at the same its killing us all very slowly. We all know that if we turn our car on while its in a garage or a enclosed place and we breath in that carbon monoxide. We can and will die within minutes of breathing in that deadly gas. Well we are in a enclosed garage and place its just much larger than a typical garage its called Earth and we have a protective ozone layer that we are destroying ass well, with millions of cars running. Eventually this extremely large garage we can not escape called earth will be just as deadly with polluted air supply as the small garage with the car running in it. The digging of oil and burning of fossil fuels and all that the industrial age has created will cause the demise of life on Earth as we know it, but in the mean time I’m sure the people who profit from the industries will continue to censor and control the media pay elected officials to manipulate the public and perpetuate that there is no immediate danger, and it very well may not be; besides these extreme weather conditions, floods, mudslides, earthquakes, droughts, blizzards and hurricanes and tornadoes that are on the way. Not everyone will drop dead at the same time like in the movies, but we will see more illnesses and health issues that they will also profit from. Life is being taking for granite and profit seems to be more important than leaving behind a healthy safe environment for futures to come.

What exactly is a “Star”

http://hollywoodlife.com/2013/10/10/kim-kardashian-hollywood-walk-of-fame-star/
image

What exactly is the base by base criteria for a celebrity to be considered a “star”, and for that matter a celebrity period. Kanye West the rapper/fashion designer/ music producer. Has come to the conclusion and seems to be running a campaign for his now fiancée Kim Kardashian and mother of his daughter North West, about Kim receiving a star on the Hollywood walk of fame for being a reality television star.

image

Kim who is most notably and notoriously known for her sex video with R&B singer Ray J has been publicly criticized for that sex video, but she seems to be making a pretty damn good living off of this perceived negative part of her past. Kim is definitely one of the biggest if not biggest reality television stars today. She has made her name a very marketable brand and continues to be successful despite what anyone has negative to say about her.

image

The Hollywood walk of fame has been the honoring place to some of the biggest movie stars and entertainers. Reality television shows are relatively new to our culture and no one thus yet has been selected from reality television to be honored on the walk of fame. If there is anyone one person that is deserving of a star on the Hollywood walk of fame for being a reality television “star” it is Kim Kardashian.

image

Despite what people may think or think they know she has catapulted reality televison to a higher plateau. If there is a criteria for being a star she meets it. Just as well as others have that are already on the walk of fame, and who themselves also have had a steamy past I will say for lack of a better word.

The Venus Project!!!

imagesCAS2DKAB

http://www.thevenusproject.com

The Venus Project by Jacque Fresco a 98 year old self-taught self proclaimed social engineer, is a very interesting concept of a new resourced based world for all of humanity. I watched three of the documentaries on Netflix and various interviews of Mr. Jacque Fresco on YouTube. I am very intrigued and fascinated by this mans insight and vision, especially as a self educated man. I have always believed that the most intelligent people were those people that were not educated throughout our school systems solely, but those who dare to break away and go against the grain have had the most productive impact on our world as we know it, and this man is one of them.imagesCA43CI73 The Venus project although it seems quite rational and would be the best concept for a future in this world as it is today, will probably never be taking into consideration by the masses, even though we have the resources and technology to make this project not just a reality, but a better more resourceful and civilized way of life. I could not agree anymore with Mr. Fresco that this very monetary system is set up against equality, and a world that will benefit the whole of humanity. In a world where people starve from hunger and a large percentage of others die from excessive food consumption we should be ashamed to consider ourselves or this society as civilized.imagesCAED6035 Thousands of years from now other societies will look back on ours and see us just as primitive in our thought process as we see the caveman. They will wonder why with all of this technology at our hands why were we so greedy and ignorant to the fact that we all make up this ecosystem that is so unbalanced and corrupted.  We spend millions of dollars on patching up things, cause there is profit in patching cause those things will soon need to be patched again. Nothing is being fixed cause there is no profit in something that is fixed and working. We live in a world that exploits its poor, its people, its children, its resources, its technology all for profit. We spend billions of dollars on wars to blow things up, then we spend money to build it back up. The Venus Project is something that everyone should be aware of this man is a genius in my eyes, but he will never be taking seriously in a society that’s motivated by profit for a few and ultimately destruction for the many!

Millions upon Millions!!!

http://www.tmz.com/2014/02/24/terrell-owens-child-support-discount-for-everytime-he-visits-his-kid/

Terrell Owens, a former National Football League all star; who had made news recently in 2008 for not only filing bankruptcy but reportedly actually being broke. Terrell Owens made over 80 million dollars in 15 seasons playing in the NFL. Most notably for the Sanfrancisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals and a few other professional NFL teams. He also had a reality show on VH 1 that aired in September of 2009 called the T.O Show. As a football player he was considered to be one of the best wide receivers in the league and made many pro-bowl appearances. Known for being a very controversial player amongst his team mates and coaches, but yet his talent on the field was undeniable. I myself,  have never really been a fan of his. I do watch professional football and I cant deny his talents as a great player. I just thought that he always had a complaint about the calls that were made by the officials, and certain plays that were made by the coaches and/or whomever was the quarterback for the teams which he played on. Now he is making the news again with reports that one of his children’s mothers has agreed to cut back 250 dollars of the 2,250 dollars a month she receives in child support from him. So that he can pay for his plain ticket to fly into Georgia so that he can spend six hours with his daughter. He reportedly has four children with four different women. Now the major question for me has always been how do you blow 80 million dollars “EVER” in life. To the point where you have to result to collecting the child support that you are obligated to pay, back from the mother to pay for your traveling expenses to see your daughter. I don’t think that I could spend 80 million dollars in 5 life times if I lived to be 100 years old each life I lived of the five. “I would sure love to have a crack at it”. We see these stars earn millions upon millions of dollars and we watch them go broke its down right sad sometimes and at other times its hilarious. I find it hard to feel sorry for his situation or anyone else who has made that much money in one life time then goes broke, that’s just the way I am. Hopefully it doesn’t drive him to do anything crazy but we live and we learn, and I’m sure if he had a second chance he would not blow all that money and if I had one chance I wouldn’t either!

Openly Gay

image

Just in the last ten years or so there has been a lot of high profile athletes to come out and publicly announce that they were openly gay and proud of it.
image

From Sheryl Swoopes a 3X Olympic gold mentalist 6X Women’s National Basketball  Association 4X WNBA Champion with the Houston Comets  3X WNBA Defensive player of the year 3X WNBA Moat Valuable Player Award 2X WNBA scoring champion, and 2X world champion.
image

John Amaechi PIC who was drafted into the Men’s national Basketball Association in 1995 by the Cleveland Cavaliers and went on to play over 15 years in the NBA.
image

Brittany Griner PIC  National Collegiate Athletic Association 2012 champion, McDonalds All American in 2009 , Big 12 defensive player of the year 2010-2013 and player of the year 2011-2013 and WNBA All Star 2013.
image

To most recently Mizzou’s All American defensive linemen, and SEC defensive player of the year Michael Sam.
Many people wonder why these athletes or anyone who comes out publicly to say that they are gay or homosexual feel the need to do do. Most feel like your personal sexual preferences are your business and its fine with them as long as its not illegal and doesn’t involve hurting someone you can live as you please.
image
There are also people who feel like it was a good honorable thing to do and they give great support to these athletes. There are also people who see it as a negative and don’t agree with it one way or the other.
image

People will always judge and be critical every time someone is judged its not necessarily in poor or negative favor someone can also judge you in a positive favor or not give a crap about you at all.
image
These athletes could have truly wanted to share that with the pubic to relieve pressure and continue on with there lives. Or they could just be trying to gain some publicity. Publicity equals public awareness whether good or bad or true or false. Public awareness sells its a major part of marketing marketable.
image

Let that be the thought the next time your bombarded by news coverage about some athlete or someone “coming out”.

Sorry Excuse For A Husband???

We live in a society now that has many different views on what it means to have morals. I think morals are something that can not be completely measured or set. We live to each is his own. I truly believe that one must live his own life.
image

What brought me to my topic was a story I heard about a radio host or a reporter saying that Jay Z was a sorry excuse for a husband, because of the performance of the couple at the 2014 Grammy Awards.
image

The couple performed a song on Beyoncé’s new visual album, the song titled Drunk in Love. She performs this song in a very sexy short cut black laced body suit. Her hair is wet, and she gyrates her body and performs for the audience as she always does.
image

I personally didnt see any real difference in how she performed this time versus last time I saw a performance of hers. I have never heard anyone say that Jay Z was a lousy husband prior to this either. Jay Z did perform this song on stage with Beyoncé (HIS WIFE) as he has been in videos with his wife before, as she dances like she normally does very exotic.
image

Now this person is saying that Jay Z is a sorry excuse for a husband, and my question is why. He is probably one of the luckiest husbands in the world if anything. He performed with his wife and let her be her young beautiful self. As they collected  another pay check and continue to get more publicity, positive and negative. As you can see this is positive.
image

I dont see anything wrong or unethical about what Jay Z did as a husband, a father and a entrepreneur. He killed all our hopes and dreams in marrying Beyoncé counting to earn millions of dollars and always court side with that kool-aid smile on his face. You gotta love him or hate him I guess.
